In this fast-moving sector, success depends on constant innovation, high-quality products and above all outstanding execution of our brands. In this exciting new phase of the business, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Product Brand Manager to join us on a 9 month FTC basis.

In the role of Product Brand Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

Portfolio Management

  • Delivery of Commercial Plan (Net Sales, Programme Margin, plus brand health and share targets) for the relevant product portfolio.
  • Management of relevant product portfolio, including understanding of formulations, packaging, brands, formats any regulatory support and technical knowledge.
  • Development and Execution of Portfolio Activation Plan in partnership with wider marketing Teams to deliver Financial & Share Target, maximising return on investment.
  • Supporting the Brand Portfolio Manager in the day to day management of the product portfolio
  • Developing and maintains a detailed understanding of their suite of products, their customer market and competitive environment to support creation of a rolling product plan to meet identified commercial targets.
  • Data analysis from program margin report (internal) & GFK/ Nielson (external)

Activations and Event Support

  • Support for events such as Glee, Garden Press Events & Chelsea

Packaging, Toolkits & Digital Assets

  • The full management of creative process from brief development, creation and delivery of communications toolkits and key visuals
  • Artwork amends, design process, internal approvals to plate & repro creation if relevant

Brand Strategy

  • Ongoing support and management of the product portfolio including identification of portfolio gaps, ensuring a clear trade up architecture, the development of a 3 Year NPD Roadmap and lifecycle management of all products within portfolio.
  • Supporting the Brand Portfolio Manager on identified strategic portfolio projects
  • Input into annual commercial planning

Agency Relationship Management

  • Ensure their work is in line with the marketing budget and vision of our brands
  • Continue to develop true agency partnerships for optimum deliverables

The role is ideal for someone who:

  • Has experience working across all areas of marketing mix, particularly Brand Management, Portfolio Management and NPD, ideally within a consumer goods businesses (B2C)
  • Has experience launching new products and strong experience of working both cross functionally and with the Sales team and their retailers
  • Can demonstrate commercial skills and broad business knowledge – proven experience of contributing to the growth and development of the business
  • Is high energy, a self-starter as well as being a collaborative team player
  • Has creative flair and enthusiasm for new ideas and concepts
  • Is analytical with a strong eye for detail and drive to see things through to timely and effective completion, with the capacity to think both strategically and creatively
  • Brings strong project management skills and experience
  • Can confidently present and has great communication skills
  • Has an interest in all things gardening and the wider gardening industry
